Melania Trump Wore a $5,500 Erdem Dress on New Year’s Eve

Trump, Palm Beach, USA - 31 Dec 2017

President Donald Trump and his family held a New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago, their private residence in Palm Beach, Florida (which is sometimes referred to as the “Winter White House”). For the occasion, First Lady Melania Trump opted for an embroidered midlength dress from British label Erdem.

The pale-pink Emery dress, from the brand’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection, is covered in paillettes from its high neck to the midcalf hem. Clusters of embroidered flowers are scattered throughout the forties-inspired silhouette. The style originally retailed for $5,500 at luxury retailer Browns. (It’s sold out on Erdem’s website.)

Though Erdem released the dress with a periwinkle-color belt, Melania removed it for the New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago. The resulting look, then, was more eighties than its original iteration. She finished the look off with pointed-toe stilettos in a matching shade of pink.

Kate Middleton Makes Us Want to Invest in a Winter Tracksuit

  • Posted on November 3, 2017 at 8:56 am

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, mother of the heir to the British throne, fashion inspiration to many, pulled off her most impressive sartorial feat: She wore a tracksuit in public and made it look impossibly chic. Can we get an “amen”?

The always-polished Duchess traded in her typical knee-length sheath dresses and fitted coats for a pair of side-striped sweats, sneakers, and a ponytail for a day at the National Tennis Centre in London, England. (Last December, she became the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, taking over the role from Queen Elizabeth, who previously held the title for 64 years.)

Please Take a Second to Acknowledge Rihanna’s Unbelievably Massive Red Ball Gown

  • Posted on July 27, 2017 at 9:13 am

Last week, Rihanna graced the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets in a show-stopping pink Giambattista Valli dress that instantly got the internet talking. And now she’s continuing her streak by wearing another incredible dress by the same designer, this time for the London premiere of the sci-fi movie.

Rihanna — who plays Bubble, a shape-shifting alien known as a “glampod” in the new film — took the off-the-shoulder trend to the extreme in the red gown that featured a low-cut neckline and a high empire waist. From under her bust to the train trailing behind her, the bright dress seemed to expand forever, giving us major Little Red Riding Hood vibes. Somehow, the voluminous shape managed to outdo another Rihanna outfit, when she wore what looked like a white bed sheet in Cannes. (It was a Dior gown, naturally.)

The singer doubled down on the bold color of the gown in every way, settling on a completely monochromatic look. Her earrings, eyeshadow, lipstick, clutch, jewelry, and heels were all the same hue — a trend that Bad Gal Riri has been experimenting with recently.

Clearly, Rihanna is the queen of fashion, despite looking like a princess these days. Take a look at some of her slay-worthy moments from the premiere, below.
