Kate Middleton Wows in Erdem Floral Gown at 100 Women in Hedge Funds Event

When it comes to Kate Middleton style, the world’s most famous (and yes, the most fashionable) duchess nails it every single time. In the years that we’ve come to know her, she’s won us over in the fashion department by way of classic, flattering dresses, suits, and the like in bright, bold colors. But tonight, we saw a new side of Kate— a very high fashion side, that is.

Earlier tonight, The Duchess of Cambridge attended the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Gala Dinner at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, wearing a floral print gown from buzzy Brit label, Erdem. Designer Erdem Moralioglu is known for his intense and vibrant floral prints—think a traditional English garden gone a bit mad, or perhaps, psychedelic. His look is part classic-part edgy, and Kate wore the maroon and midnight blue orchid-print dress with an exaggerated hem with aplomb.

Kate finished off the look with a black satin self-frame clutch by Anya Hindmarch, diamond and sapphire pendant earrings (which belonged to the late Queen Mother), a mixed-cut diamond bracelet (which is believed to be a wedding gift from Prince Charles, according to The Daily Mail), and of course, her blue sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which picked up on the gown’s blue leaf details.

When it come to fashion circles, Erdem is the crème de la crème and one of London’s hottest labels. While Kate is no stranger to the best fashion design out there (you had us at McQueen, Kate), we’re thinking this could be the beginning of an edgier fashion period for the delightful-to-watch sartorial star.
